Table mountain hikes

Hi looking to go up table mountain on the cable car when we do Cape Town in oct but would like to do a easy hiking trail on the top.are they clearly marked out or would we have to purchase a map.I have seen from the website they do guided walks are these free and are they worth doing or is it best to go on our own. looking for a trail about a hour long not to hilly with good views

Thanks

Hi we have never taken a guided walk on Table Mountain so cannot comment if they are worth while. While on top of the mountain, I would suggest doing the walk to Maclears Beacon which is the highest point on the mountain. It is a very easy path, mostly on the level with some stunning views. All paths are well signposted from the cable station onwards.
