Rental Car?

We will be staying at Oyster Bay in a 1 Bedroom timeshare with a full kitchen. I like to cook so we would only eat out 2-3 times during a week maximum. I know I can order groceries to be delivered upon our arrival but I also like to check out the grocery stores too. So should we rent a car for the trip to and from the airport, a grocery store visit and 2 meals out? Or should we just rely on taxis?

1. Re: Rental Car?

I would advise to get a car. If only going for a week because you don't want to be spending time waiting on buses and taxis, and if you see a place to make an impromptu stop you can. We also cook some of our meals and often pack snacks and drinks for the beach, but we love to go out, and while oyster pond is a lovely a corner of St. martin, you should see a little more of the island. Definitely visit some beaches, have at least 1 meal in Grand Case, and we too enjoy shopping for ourselves. I highly recommend checking out Simply market on the French side and Grand Marche in Cole Bay.

I agree with markushu. Definitely get a car. The island is fun to explore.
