Aghia paraskevi beach

Hi does any one know if the beach area and sun lounges (part of the skiathos princess hotel) can be used by non hotel guests? We went to Skiathos and stayed at aghia paraskevi and that end of the beach just had general use where you paid the collector from the hotel and you could also use the beach bar/ taverna. We went back to Troulos last year but visited aghia paraskevi for the day. The beach had changed and it appeared as though that end was for hotel guests only. We ard going again this year and would be useful to know in advance.

HI, my parents stayed at AP last year and said the sunbeds at the right side still belong to the hotel and can only be used by their guests. The have got little notices nailed on the umbrellas.

Hi

Yes, you have to walk to the left along the beach to get to the public sunbeds and there is just a little cabin for refreshments. We did plonk ourselves down on the hotel sunbeds last year and were asked to move. Lovely beach though, one of my favourites.

Last year we were in aghia paraskevi, last week of June and 1st week of July. We had no problem using the hotel sun loungers for the 1st week and a drink was included in the cost. 2nd week different story. We were told new manager rules by one attendant and that it was July and they were fully booked by another. Most days many beds left empty, so not sure why they did this. The other end is just as nice but it has a bar playing loud music.

Thanks for the replies seemed to be similar when we were there last year that the majority of the beds just stayed empty all day which didn't make sense. Suppose as a five star hotel they have to provide guaranteed loungers and have paid own the licence to have that stretch of beach. A few years ago seemed to still be the hotel collecting but any one could use along with the bar/taverna on beach.

We have just returned from a stay at the hotel - this policy is still in place. Hotel staff had several arguments/discussions with some people who initially refused to move!

It did mean there were many free sunbeds, but if they were open to everyone, then there wouldn't be enough for all the hotel guests, so they can't win I suppose.

It looks to be the same policy that when you get into July and the hotel gets full it's only right that guests of the hotel want to have a sunbed available if they need one. Concequently they allow visitors to use the the last three rows from front to back and make a charge but throw in a free drink. There is no indication of ths other than a small notice on the sunbed stand. A large sign when entering the beach would save a lot of hassle for the beach staff. As others have said there are sun beds for hire down the far left hand side of the beach.
