Marzamemi is a seasonal very tiny village, lively in summer, almost deserted the rest of the year.
Marzamemi is too quiet and it's deserted outside high tourist season.
Except at weekends when its a non stop disco for the Catanese young bright things..
The past two Octobers were warm, and toruists were swimming, but the season (and services) is over for residents.
Depends on what you want. I've been in both October and around Christmas. Yes, it's dead insofar as nearly everything is closed, but that could be a good thing too. Afaik some of the restaurants are open year round - il congliette (hotel), la balata, l'aquario. There are a few b&b which will probably stay open for passing business. Obviously the wineries don't operate on touristy seasonality so you should be sorted there.
being outside tourist season means that the place will be largely yours, no rubbish, crowds, or parking problems. Great!
Downsides.., its cold and damp.
