Marzamemi in October or just before Christmas

Does it shut down here after the high season, would like to pop to Sicily just before Christmas want nice food, very keen on here because of the home of Campisi and near Pachino. Are there Christmas celebrations or is it too quiet?

Marzamemi is a seasonal very tiny village, lively in summer, almost deserted the rest of the year.

Marzamemi is too quiet and it's deserted outside high tourist season.

The past two Octobers were warm, and toruists were swimming, but the season (and services) is over for residents.

Depends on what you want. I've been in both October and around Christmas. Yes, it's dead insofar as nearly everything is closed, but that could be a good thing too. Afaik some of the restaurants are open year round - il congliette (hotel), la balata, l'aquario. There are a few b&b which will probably stay open for passing business. Obviously the wineries don't operate on touristy seasonality so you should be sorted there.

being outside tourist season means that the place will be largely yours, no rubbish, crowds, or parking problems. Great!

Downsides.., its cold and damp.
