Top of Europe

We are staying in Zurich. We have a Eurail Global Pass. We want to travel to the top of Europe (jungfrau)for the day. Can we use our pass and once there do you need to pay to any admissions for anything. We will be there in August .

Hi Lolapick,

The Eurrail Pass offers only a 25 percent discount on the entire route to Jungrau. The pass. The Eurrail pass will get you to Interaken without any costs. For the prices to Jungfrau see the following website.

jungfrau.ch/en/…

Have you thought about staying in Lucerne verses Zurich?

Have a great trip!

Zürich to the Jungfraujoch is a long train ride. By the quickest route via Bern it will take you over 5 hours. Then you have to go back. 10 hours on a train in one day is torture! Even staying in Luzern doesn't help all that much as the train time on the most direct route over the Brünig pass is longer and will take just about the same amount of time.

For the Jungfraujoch it is really important to stay in the vicinity. Take a look at places like Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Grindelwald. (Mürren is also nearby but not as practical for the Jungfraujoch as the others).

here are some links that will help you:

if you do decide to stay in the Jungfrau area do not stay in Interlaken unless you love souvenir shops and fast food places! Not Swiss at all... but the villages I mentioned above are lovely. Quiet and with wonderful views.
