Hi, is it warm enough to swim, water ski etc in SLT in late September? what is the water temp?

Also can anyone refer me to a site that I can check entertainment options for the weekend of Fri 27th And Sat 28th Sept. Looking for family friendly musical/dance show. Thanks

We were in Tahoe last week. If you are staying at Stateline, you'll see an outdoor stage area next to Harvey's parking lot, where they have performers during the summer and into Sept.

Here is a list of venues:

We don't go water skiing in Tahoe in July, water is too cold for us if we fall in the lake. If you wore a wet suit, it would be better. We rent a boat for a half day and enjoy taking a picnic, going to coves. Here is info about the lake temps. Says in summer the top 12 inches can be 68 degrees.

Lots of people swim in Tahoe though the water is very cold. When the temps in Tahoe get into the 80s it feels really hot due to the high altitude. The shallow waters near the shore are warmer than the water out further where you'd be water skiing. I think most people would agree that wearing a wet suit is the way to go if waterskiing.

That particular weekend is usually busy at Tahoe due to Street Vibrations in Reno:

The end of September can always go either way. However, on a typical year I am still swimming in the lake almost every day with the kiddos. Cold is always a relative term.

As far as shows are concerned; for under 21 typically there is only 1 show in town. There is a magic show at the Horizon Casino called Illusion Fusion. I have taken my kids and they loved it!
