Reno airport to South Lake Tahoe

This will be our first visit to Lake Tahoe in about 2 weeks. What is the best way to get from Reno Airport to Quaking Aspen Lane which is where we will be staying? How long of a ride is it? We will be coming in on a Tuesday, is the traffic bad? Our flight lands at 2:30

Thank you

An airport shuttle is one option. But how are you getting around while in SLT? Maybe renting a car is your best option.

BTW Quaking Aspen Lane is in Stateline, NV, not South Lake Tahoe. You'll definitely need a car to get around.

You REALLY need a rental car.

Upper Kingsbury is not a place to be without a car. It's not in South Lake Tahoe. You will be looking at the Carson Valley, not Lake Tahoe. Where are you going to buy groceries?

It might actually be faster to drive down Highway 395 to Minden and then take Foothill Blvd to Kingsbury Grade. Traffic won't be bad.

If you are driving, the drive is pretty staight forward. You will take Hwy 395 south to the southern end of Carson City where you turn to Hwy 50 to Lake Tahoe. At the Lakeside Inn there is a signal for Hwy 206 - Kingsbury Grade where you will turn left to your condo. The drive will take and hour to an hour and 15 minutes and traffic should not be an issue.

CaSwede's route is the best for your first visit to the Lake Tahoe area. You will get to see the lake as you go around Hwy 50. You'll go through Zephry Cove, where the MS Dixie 2 paddlewheel goes across to Emerald Bay each day.

As you turn up Hwy 206-Kingsbury Grade to your rental, you will see the little Red Hut Cafe. It's one of our favorite places for a breakfast.

If your not in a huge hurry to get to your lodging, you might consider taking a more scenic route. Take Hwy 395 south, but go west on Hwy 431 (Mt. Rose Highway). With this route you get great views of Lake Tahoe. You will then take Hwy 28 along the east shore of Lake Tahoe and meet up with Highway 50. I am guessing this will take about an extra 45 minutes (?) over the other route.
