Trip Report :Long Point Provincial Park

We spent a night and a day at Long Point and Port Rowan last week as part of a road trip vacation to see southern Ontario.

The beach at Long Point Provincial Park is stunning! 2 miles of fine, soft light-colored sand, clean beaches, no crowds. We stayed at a primitive site in the dunes, less than 100 feet from the beach, and the shower and bathroom facilities were clean, well-lit and comfortable. The park has a no-noise policy and it was lovely to sleep with the breeze along the shore, the crackling of campfires and the occasional sound of someone talking around a fire in the distance.

Causeway Restaurant, grocery and gift shop, just up the road from the park entrance, has great food at great prices, friendly service and high-quality locally-made gifts. We passed up all the souvenir shops at CN Tower, etc., which sold cheap junk made in China, but loaded up at Causeway!

So glad that you enjoyed your trip to Long Point. We were there in June. Although we just had a few hours to walk along the beach, we were so impressed. Hopefully, the mosquitoes weren't quite as bad when you were there (although they hadn't gone as far as the beach the day we were there).

Hi Magonboat,

Sounds like you had a Super Time!

You should consider writing a REVIEW for TripAdvisor, as more people read the REVIEWS Section than browse thru the FORUMS when looking for THINGS TO DO.

You could just "cut & paste" exactly what you have posted here.

To write a REVIEW... Click on the THINGS TO DO Button to the left of this screen... it will guide you thru how to write a Review (and if you have any Questions about the process, you can always come back here to ask).

You`d be helping out a Fellow Traveller, because sadly the info for those interested in Camping is somewhat lacking on TA.

Cheers!

Exploring along the Lake Erie shore offers many delights. If you are in the area again, and we thank you for your visit to Canada, consider also Port Dover, Port Stanley, Leamington / Point Pelee.
