What's open

We are staying at the Inn at the Falls during the week after Thanksgiving. Have things started to close for the season? What are some good things to see?

Beginning of October is still a fairly busy time in Muskoka because of all the beautiful colours. You can take a drive to Algonquin Park for a nice hike and tour of the museums. Bracebridge and Huntsville have nice downtown areas. Go to Gravenhurst and check out the brand new Muskoka Wharf, they have wonderful boat cruises there. You can enjoy a meal on a boat while enjoying the colors as well as seeing many beautiful cottages. There are some farmers markets to enjoy, Bracebridge - Saturday, Gravenhurst - Wednesday, Huntsville - Thursday, Rosseau - Friday. Huntsville has a great theatre. Check out www.algonquintheatre.ca

You could go to Deerhust's The Edge Sing Show which is really good. You can rent a canoe at Algonquin Outfitters in Bracebrige and try that out. On Hwy 11 around Gravenhurst there is Muskoka Wildlife Centre and it is a nice place to see many animals that live in our wildlife that you wouldn't normally get to see. There is still plenty to do in Muskoka this time of the year. Are you bringing kids?

Hope this helps.

Do you think that will still be fall colours in the middle of October.

They are usually around there peak the first weekend of October. It all depends on the weather and also if there has been hard rain (that knocks all the leaves down). But there will be a good amount of colour still, no too worry.
