Restaurants in Nelson

Hi Guys,

I will be spending a couple of nights in Nelson and was looking for some suggestions on places to eat. We are open to most types of cusine and are staying in the Best Western Bakers Street Inn so somewhere nearby would be cool.

Also, any suggestions on what to spend a couple of days doing in the locality?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There is a good diner on Baker Street that is run by a local oriental family. It looks very 70's, but it provides good food.

Hi, just got back from a few days in Nelson. "All Seasons" cafe is just great. Excellent food, service and ambience. (not cheap but worth it) Most of the organic cafes in town are good. (The Kootenay Bakery and Cafe was funky but good food)

There's lots to do there from sightseeing on/around Baker St. to taking the tram down by the lake (worth doing once) Cottonwood Falls is nice...an excellent cool break if it is hot, as it was when we were there (We went to the falls during the town farmers market and boy, it was the 60's all over!)

Try Ainsworth Hot Springs for a hot dunk, take your swimsuit. If you have a car and don't already have "numb-but" drive The Silvery Slocan Circle Tour, a drive of about 4 hrs. Prepare to be wowed by scenery and lots of funky little towns to stop for a bite. Stop at the silver mining ghost town near Sandon. Also, the Kokanee Glacier Park is just north about 35 mins. Try www.discovernelson.com; www.britishcolumbia.com;and www.nelsonbc.ca and Enjoy! I'll be there next week myself.
