Rivière du Portage is in Québec, a few km west of Rivière du Loup. It is a small town located on the St Lawrence river. The town is made up of historical houses, the history of which is documented on signs along the main road. Very nice place to walk.

The small town located a few kilometers west of Rivière-du-Loup is called Notre-Dame-du-Portage while Rivière-du-Portage is located near Tracadie Beach in the New Brunswick Acadian Peninsula. Both are a few hundreds kilomiters distant from each other.
