Advise on Romantic 2 night Get Away

Hi everyone. Its my first post on the forum.

I am looking now for a relaxing romantic get away in the Laurentions, Quebec area. Saint Agathe, Saint Adale, anywhere around.

I am not into skiing so why pay the high season Mont Tramblant etc. rates

Prefer a nice place with Fireplace and Whirlpool in room and maybe a Spa nearby etc.

If you have any nice ideas or experiences you would share, Id be happy to hear about it.

Wish to travel somewhere next week towards the 2nd half of the week.

Thanks so much.

Quiet Smiling.

The Chateau Montebello is spectacular right now, on site activities too. Some of their junior suites have whirlpools and fireplaces. The building is very romantic as well. They have a fab pool and spa. In room dining and a full service restaurant as well.

I stayed there for my honeymoon, it was great. We took our own champagne. I've bucket and glasses already in the room. Enjoyed it in the whirlpool.

The little town of Montebello is quaint and Parc Omega is a ten minute drive away for some interesting daytime activity.

There is nothing in Ste Agathe that I would call romantic.

Thanks so much "bogwoppit" for your prompt reply and helpful information.

If you don't mind me asking. what about if I don't appreciate the restaurant & food, we are on specific diets, that we need to schlep along our own food, is this Chateau Montebello still the recommended place? also with a on place restaurant doesn't it get too busy-loud?

Also if you wouldn't sharing another alternative so we can have a choice to pick...

Sorry, maybe I am already asking too much. But if you would kindly reply, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much

As mentioned in my original question post, I wasn't specifically looking Ste Agathe.

I would prefer to find anything in that vicinity, it would be easier for me to get there.

A nice place with Fireplace & double whirlpool in room. would` be lovely

maybe on a lake. etc.

Thanks again for your reply, and I wish i can be helped further.

The Chateau is a thing but loud, it is the worlds biggest log cabin. Check out the link to images below. You can ask for a fridge in the room with no issues. The restaurant is far from the rooms. It is a very unique place.

The only other places i can think of tend to be in ski towns which means you pay a premium for that. Either that or they are b&b's with meals included.

There is nothing in Ste Agathe that I would stay at for a weekend, but you could look in the Tripadvisor reviews section and see if you like anything you see.

Maybe look at Blueberry Lake in La Conception. Further north, full cottages and not near a ski hill. www.blueberrylake.com

you could take a look at Manoir St-Sauveur. They have a fireplace, a nice spa within the hotel (lots of treatments and massages), an indoor pool and new outdoor hot tub. There is a restaurant and a very good breakfast buffet.

The hotel is located in Saint-Sauveur des Monts and there are many shops and restaurants in the village.

Thanks Jean-Simon

I drove down to take a look at some of the hotels. and as "bogwoppit" advised me above, It didn't look like what I am looking for.

Closest was the Romantic Suite at the Excelsior. But the rate is higher then I think its value is.

Still not sure what to do.

Blueberry Resort is on a small road between Labelle and Rivière Rouge. So about 25 kms past La Conception. The chalets are stunning and can be had at very affordable prices since the distance to Tremblant is a wee bit too much. Which doesn't mean that you cannot go to The Village Tremblant resort. Could even go to the Casino as the gondola from the pedestrian village, it is free and afford some great views. That is when it is running...

Also the casino might have a buffet beside the regular menu, you must check with them. That way you can probably pick some of the offerings suitable for your diet. L'Escalope in the Saint-Jovite part is really liked by the locals when times come for a celebration. It is BYOB and has a very large appetizers buffet that can actually make a full meal. For the rest the chalets at Bluebery Lake are all equipped so no problems for your diet and it is extra quiet around.

Another suggestion in a completely different area would be Auberge Le Baluchon in Saint-Paulin but it is 1 1/2 hours from Montréal. My cousin went there last year and she and bf just loved the place.

Thanks "rickb" for your response.

I checked out the reviews on "blueberry resort",

It does sound like a place worthwhile to check out.

Unfortunately they are sold out for the dates I am looking at. So for now its out, but I think I will get there on my next occasion.

Re: the Auberge Le Baluchon in Saint-Paulin i can't make out from the reviews enough to know if its to my liking, I still need to study it more.

If I do change my mind to consider Mont-Tramblant which hotel would u suggest there?
