Tremblant early mid January

Planning this winters ski, have been to Canada a few times but never Tremblant. We prefer quieter slopes (busy being French alps busy), great ski school (always good to meet people, make sure of an early start and no matter how many lessons you have you always learn something). We're a bit lazy when it comes to carrying skis so always like ski in ski out or ski garage, après ski not that important. Would love some local/ first hand info and advice on where to stay would be great. Is it worth the journey from the uk for just 1 week, previously did 10/11 days in Canada but can't manage that this year.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Ps just 2 adult, good enough skiers who love to ski then rest!

Tremblant after the first few days in January will NOT be crowded and the lodging prices will be lower than they will be in mid-February to mid-March. Be prepared for cold weather though. Temperatures in January often will be -18C (0 degrees F).

The official resort website is www.tremblant.ca. Any place in the resort village would work for you. For maximum convenience, click on Lodging and take a look at Les Sommets des Neiges. (you cannot get any closer to the lifts and views are great, as is proximity to bars and restaurants); Hilton Homewood Suites, Place St-Bernard and Fairmont. All are within a 5-minute or shorter walk to the lifts.

Units at Place St-Bernard are a few steps to the gondola. Also come with full kitchens, which allow you to go back to your room for lunch and take off your boots, Beats eating on a slopeside cafeteria. You also get passes to the aquatic center.

Forgot to mention that mid-January should be quiet, especially weekdays.

Just to clarify, the majority of lodging properties in the resort village have full kitchens. Place St-Bernard is not unique in that regard. Also, while many properties have international branding for purposes of marketing (Residence Inn, Fairmont, Westin, Hilton Homewood Suites), ALL units in the resort are owned by individuals and simply managed by specialized hotel or other companies. That includes those promoted by Les Suites, Tremblant Sunstar and others, as these are management companies, not owners.

To be certain that the accommodations you are interested in have full kitchens, it is advisable to check the lodging descriptions on www.tremblant.ca and/or to ask at the time that you book. The same is true for fireplaces, in-unit washers and dryers and other amenities.
