Howdy

Distance from Vancouver airport to Clearwater is about 500km. You should be able to drive this distance in less than 6 hours, the biggest time factor sometimes is driving through Vancouver itself(large city with lots of traffic). Once you get on the highway the majority of the time can be driven at 100km/hr.

As a side note you will be driving through the Coast Mountains first and will not get to see the Rockies till you get into Valemount just west of Jasper. Lots of mountains between Vancouver and Jasper and warm desert like terrain around Kamloops.

Enjoy your visit!

Hi,

We stayed in a small cabin in Clearwater last summer at a place called Dutch Lake Resort and Campground. There is another place with a similar name. The cabin we had was a one bedroom with full kitchen, and was $130 a night. It was a newer unit, and very clean. They also had one unit that was an older log cabin.

Hope this helps.

Sorry I can't help you. Most of our adventures are either tent camping or RV trailer camping throughout BC and Alberta.

DO NOT miss the waterfalls in Wells Gray Park in Clearwater. They are very spectacular and will be even better in May as snow melt in the mountains will have started and the water will be flowing!!

Here is a link to the park, Helmcken Falls are considered the fourth largest waterfall in Canada, about three times higher than Niagara Falls!

Hi there

Can I suggest you take the Trans Canada Highway through the Fraser Canyon to get from Vancouver to Kamloops? The scenery is spectacular...really. This was the main highway between Van and Kam for years until the Coquihalla opened in 1986...it is a toll highway of $10. Not a big deal, but if you want great scenery and pooints of interst, take the Trans Canada Highway (highway 1).

You could overnight in Kamloops and then really enjoy the drive to Clearwater. I think that driving from Vancouver to Clearwater is a long way to go in one day if you are not used to driving those distances. It is doable, but why not enjoy the trip! My opinion only!

You are going to love your holiday!
