Any tips to get a campsite in Sandbanks Provincial Park?

We've been trying during 3 years to get a pair of campsites with electricity and shadow in Sandbanks for 4 days on July or August. It seems mission impossible, even five months ahead at midnight these campsites are not available. Any suggestions or tips?

The Ontario Parks site suggests looking very close to the date you want because of cancellations. It's not as secure, but it's one way.

You could try Campnab (https://www.campnab.com). That said, high-demand parks get re-booked quickly.

As others have mentioned, some sites (e.g. beachfront ones) are super popular and you have to try to reserve 5 months before at exactly 7am to have a chance (and even then, chances are slim; there might be 1 or 2 sites that come up every couple of days and there are probably another 100 (if not 1000) campers just like you trying to reserve the same site so it's basically a race between you and the 100 others to see who clicks 'Reserve' closest to 7am but not before ... (i.e. roll of dice and you could miss it many times before you get it or realistically never get it (mathematically, there might be 100 opportunities in total to get those sites (probably less than that) and there's likely several hundred people trying to get one so not everyone will be successful )).

If all you want is an electrical site, they are popular but not as hard to get (although weekends are still very tricky). If you wanted to go this week, you can get an electrical site in the West Lake section for this Sunday to this Wednesday. If you want to stay longer, other sites are available for Wednesday and Thursday nights but you'd have to chance sites during your stay which is a bit of a pain.

One popular method is to use multiple browsers to try to increase your odds but if you do this, make sure you are using a browser that supports multiple sessions (if they all share the same session, they will each trample on each other (i.e. you might get the site in one window and then clicking 'Reserve' in another window (which will fail since the first window got the site) will actually cause the first window to lose the reservation because the session will be overwritten (think of it as each window sharing the same grocery basket. One person (the first window) puts something in the basket and to purchase it but another person (the second window) doesn't find anything they want so thinks the basket should be empty so empties the basket. You need to make sure you have multiple sessions (i.e. multiple baskets) so that each person only affects their own basket.
