Goat Haunt/Kootenai Lake

If you want to see moose, you have to take this hike. Pass through customs and follow the signs for the trail to the lake. It's an out-and-back, roughly 5 1/2 miles RT and while the hike itself isn't terribly scenic, the end result is awe inspiring. I've never been that 'up close and personal' with moose before. We saw 2 adult bulls and an adolescent. Folks the next day saw 5 moose, so this hike is as close to a 'sure thing' as you can get.

It's always exciting when you get rewarded for your efforts; I have had days like that myself. Then I can go months without another siting like that, lol.

Glad to hear that you saw some great wildlife.
