Venice by Night - anybody done this organised trip?

Has anybody been on the 'Venice by Night' trip?

Due to arriving back at the hotel much later than the day trip I think this would give us a lot more time in Venice.

I would be grateful to hear what people thought of this trip. Is it better to book this when booking the package holiday or cheaper to book this when actually in Lake Garda or is there not much difference in the price?

Thank you

Hi, I haven't done this trip personally but have heard from many people who have. The Venice by Night excursion leaves later than the day trip (from Bardolino it would leave around 11.30am and return around 00.30am as opposed to leaving around 7.40am and returning at 7.00pm) but you would still get an hour or so longer in Venice.

The main advantage of the Venice by Night tour is that you get to see the city when most of the day-trippers have gone home.

There is no difference in price whether you book in advance or in resort. The only saving would be if you book a few excursions and maybe get one thrown in free.

This will give you more information as well as the prices for this year:

We did this trip and definitely better than the day trip. If staying somewhere half board then see if you can swap your evening meal for a pa led lunch. You can then eat this on the boat transfer into Venice, this not only reduces your costs but also maximises your time in Venice. Depending on the time of year, it also quite nice to see Venice in the dark, being lit up in places. On the downside, chances are the queues for St Mark's will be very long!

We did book this before we left, and it was cheaper, we also got a half price card, which then made other trips cheaper, which we didn't book until we were in the resort.
