Hi, from Malcesine in either direction you'll only find villages but they will have places to eat. You'd be better walking to the south to Val di Sogno or further on to the villages of Cassone and Assenza.

For great views you could take the cable car from Malcesine to its first stop, San Michele, and walk back down.

Or take a boat further afield to do some walking along lake paths, e.g. between Torbole and Riva the path (for bikes and pedestrians only) takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

Further south there's a lake path between Garda and Bardolino (about 45 minutes) with some small bars/cafes on the way. Or from Bardolino you could walk to Lazise (about an hour) with a stop in Cisano en route (15-20 minutes south of Bardolino).
