Obviously, we will take a ferry trip at some stage. We're particularly interested in going up the cable car at Malcesine and would also like advice on the best time of the day to go on it, taking into consideration visiting other northern villages in one day..( I'm interested in photography and the northern regions sounds stunning! I believe there is a hop-on/off ferry. Would one day be enough to see the northern villages? Any tips on any of these northern towns would be great, as well as the most cost-effective way of getting to them. There is no rush, it's a chilled out holiday but photography is a must!
Sirmione sounds beautiful also, would you recommend getting a ferry or bus from Garda? I know we can walk to Bardolina from Garda.
Also, a question about Verona! We are staying in Verona for 1 night when we arrive as our flight is late. We've booked a hotel near the train/bus station and we're hoping to explore a bit of Verona early the next day ( morning/early afternoon) before getting bus to Garda. How many hours would we need to see the main sights (Arena, Juliet's House, Piazza del Erbe...) Everything looks quite close! I have a bus timetable for the lake, buses seem to go every 2-3 hours? Just thought it would be nice to explore Verona a little as we are already there. We can also go back during the week but I feel there will be so much to see on the lake, we might not get back!! If we were to try and get to an opera in the Arena, how difficult would it be to get back to Garda town at night?
