The waters on the bay side beaches are calmer than the ocean side, so towns like Dennis and Brewster attract a lot families with small children. We like Paine's Creek and Brewster Landing, both in Brewster.

brewstercapecod.org/information/…beaches Two beautiful freshwater ponds with terrific small accessible beaches are also found in Brewster, Long Pond and Sheep Pond. It is a very family-oriented town. As for a lodging recommendation, what is your price-range and length of stay?

Hello Ottawa! Love to see our Canadian friends enjoying the sun and surf on Olde Cape Cod. Consider Old Silver Beach in Falmouth. You could stay at the Seacrest Resort right on the beach and not have a care in the world. They have beach chairs laid out every morning for you, a heated pool and bar right on the beach, evening entertainment, etc... My daughter use to baby sit there for guests. Check out my posts about Falmouth and Old Silver Beach for lore info.

Another choice would be Green Harbor Motel on an inlet in East Falmouth.

To add to the two great recommendations you've already received:

consider Oyster Pond in beautiful Chatham. This saltwater pond has virtually no wave action and is shallow in the beach area. This children's beach is great for little kids with nets catching minnows!
