Best Beachs For Big Waves?

We aren't big swimmers, but we do like to take long walks along a beach with big waves. Could anyone suggest a Beach for a nice walk with big waves on the Cape.

Thanks

Any of the National Seashore beaches. From Coastguard in Eastham up to Provincetown. Nauset Beach in Orleans is also good for wave action, not officially part of the National Seashore because it belongs to the town of Orleans but is part of the same stretch of beaches. You can also walk a long way on the Bay side beaches when the tide is out. Goes out for several miles in places such as Skaket in Orleans and the Bay side of Eastham. No waves of course at that time but a spectacular sight.

Waves were already usual with the winds yesterday on Nantucket Sound and the swells alone along the Atlantic beaches are predicted to be 4 ft today. If you are on the Cape now then enjoy the calm before the storm today.

And please don't take any chances by getting close to the water. Don't forget the folks in Maine who were swept off a rock and out to sea when they wanted to go out and look at pre-hurricane waves a couple of years ago. Some of the photos of people in Florida cavorting in the waves are very scary.

The National Seashore will close east-facing ocean beaches once the surf kicks up.

Ken, did you go yet? While all the Atlantic beaches can be rough or calm a great one for walking with the dramatic, scenic dunes is Cahoon Hollow. Also plan to have lunch at the former lifesaving station that has been converted to a restaurant right there. Park in their lot and the parking fee turns into a voucher for the same amount in food. Beware that the dramatically tall dunes also means and climb down to the ocean AND a climb back up. www.thebeachcomber.com Have fun and let us know which beach(es) you enjoyed most.
