If you're only on Cape for 2 days. you're going to spend a quite a lot of that time for a whale watch when staying in Falmouth as the boats that go shortest distance leave from Provincetown which is at other end of Cape so it's a long drive (like about 60 miles) and some roads are slow going -- there are boats that go from Barnstable as I recall but they then spend more time on water getting there...

So given how short time you'll be here, not sure if devoting that time is practical but it's up to you, of course.

Where else are you going? You can get whale watches from Boston Mass, Gloucester Mass, and places in Maine

There is a whale watch boat out of Barnstable Harbor, much closer to Falmouth than Provincetown..Not sure of other locations you plan on visiting but Plymouth Ma. also has a whale watch.

I would at least book the whale watch the morning of to make sure you have a seat. The whale watches out of Ptown have 800 numbers. Ptown is a 1 hour or more from Falmouth. If you go early morning you will avoid most of the beach traffic. Once out there you can make a day of it.

Above link is for Whale watching out of Barnstable Harbour. Much closer than Provincetown. We went with them and it was a great trip. Get you out to the same whales everyone else will be seeing if they leave from Provincetown and you save the drive up the Cape.
