Falmouth or Orleans

I am looking to travel the Cape Cod the first weekend of October and am not sure where to stay. Would you recommend staying in Falmouth or Orleans?

Not sure of your question. Both are good places to stay. Are you asking which is a better place to stay? Are you limited to one or the other?

I have never been to Cape Cod and was wondering which would be the better area to stay in October for things to do. I was also looking at Chathan. Do you have any recommendations on any Motels or B&B's to stay at during October?

What kind of things are you interested in doing? Are you driving, or will you have a car? Falmouth is in one corner of the cape. It's a beautiful town with lots going on, but it's not really convenient in my opinion to go anywhere else on the cape. If you're planning on just staying there, or visiting Martha's Vineyard, then that's a good spot. If you want to travel around more, I'd probably suggest Orleans. Then you can easily visit Chatham, Wellfleet, Truro and P-town.
