Large Bachelorette party in September - first time @the Cape

Im planning a large bachelorette party for technically off-season on the Cape (Sep 5-7). About 13 girls - around $200/night pp. Age ranges late 20s to mid thirtees. Problem is, Ive never been to the cape! Provincetoewn was recommended by a friend - as we want good sights, great nightlife, and some spa activities all pretty close to where we will stay. Im researching VRBO and homeaway for house rentals...btu wonder if there are other lively spots in the area we should consider?

We would be traveling from Maine and likely only for the weekend. Im open to other destination ideas within a 3 hour drive or so - but it has to be fun, active and plenty of places to visit - just not the usual spots like Boston or Portland.

Thanks in advance!

You may have a problem renting a house just for the weekend even at that time of the year. Still quite busy on the Cape.

Definitely consider Newport. I went to a bachelorette party there once and it was great! We were about 9 and stayed in a few rooms at an inn. It was good to be within walking distance of downtown as that is where the restaurants and bars are (shopping too). That early in September it will be still be pretty busy at coastal places since it will still be warm and beach-possible weather.

If you check www.weneedavacation.com you can search for places that rent for less than a week, and also using your dates (I just checked, there are lots that fulfill your criteria) Provincetown has a lot going on as do most Cape towns on the weekends during Sept. You could also look at Orleans & Falmouth as possibilities.

Bachelorette parties are not a hit in Provincetown. The usual clientele at the night spots do not like it when a group takes over a place for one of these parties. There have been comments in this forum in the past.

I'd suggest Hyannis for you as that's where the majority of the bars and restaurants are congregated (Main St). You guys could go to Embargo and the British Beer Company. Or if you stay in Yarmouth or Dennis check out Sundancers.
