Packing light for travelling UK/Europe - toiletries?

We're planning to backpack and travel UK/Europe via short haul flights. If we're only doing carry on, what toiletries do the European airlines not allow (ie. razors, shavers, etc)? Anybody have feedback? I'd prefer not to put through our bags otherwise we risk it getting lost.

Most toiletry items can be bought cheaply throughout Europe, I wouldnt bother packing them to be honest, just buy locally as and when needed.

The rules are toiletries up to 100ml can be carried in hand luggage as long as they are in a clear re-sealable bag which they hand out free at UK airports. Electric shavers and disposable razors are also allowed but not the 'cut-throat' type obviously.

I always carry a bag of these items when flying but as previously pointed out, it's sometimes easier to buy them when you arrive

The rules here in Europe are pretty much the same as in the US and Canada and most other places in the world.

Maybe a good idea to buy some 100ml bottles before you leave and just fill them up with what you need.

Places like the Body Shop (if you have that in Canada?) sell stuff in small 100ml bottles also.

Hi,

be aware that many UK airports do NOT give the resealable bags away - they sell them from a dispensing machine at 50p or even GBP1. East Midlands is a prime example. Best advice to anyone: if you do come across some free ones - stock up!!!

They should allow those things. However, the disposable razor might have to go if you run into the bloke who took away my teeny-tiny manicure scissors with a 3/4 " blade at CDG in September. I count on nothing anymore.
