Europe in December - Itinerary Help

Hi, I'm travelling with my son (15) and daughter (17) during all of December 2012 and have tentatively planned Prague- Germany somewhere?- Venice-Rome- Interlaken- Paris- London. Can anyone please suggest what place(s) might be good for us to stop between Prague and Venice. We are interested in seeing/doing things which are a bit unusual as well as the usual tourist things (but not interested in visiting churches). If there is somewhere you could suggest to visit which is not a big city, that would be good.

Thanks so much

We like snow, not that we have had much experience of it except when we travelled to Montana a couple of time to visit relatives there. We thought we would spend 2 days at Interlaken trying skiing which my children have not done before.

I am not sure about enjoyeing the cold dark winter evenings.... but we have to travel in December as that is when the kids have their school holidays from high school. Do you have suggestions about what to do on the winter evenings?

Hi, as this is not really a UK-related enquiry, you could also post on TripAdvisor's Holiday Travel forum, which is perhaps better suited for multi-country trips. Doing so will also get you input from others members who might not look at the UK forum.

You can find that here:

I can't agree with the last poster. The Holiday forum is like a black hole where posts go to die.

I'd post in the London forum if that's one of your destinations. It's very active and you'll get a quick response.

Also post in Prague, Paris, Venice and so on
