2013 trip planning

6 adults. Sept 2013. Leave us on sat, arrive Sunday morning to London, spend sun in London, back to airport Monday get rental car and head out. 12 nights, carryon luggage only, renting mini van. This is a country tour not city tour. From London head to Stonehenge and then bath-1st overnight bath. From bath , on to wales then Scotland. Leave from Edinburgh or Glasgow. Willing to drive up to 150 miles in a day as we have all day to get where going. Anyone already have itinerary to cover this area. Suggestions as to towns to stay in. Want to stay in B&B, towns that would have several pubs or restaurants. Want to see scenery, a few castles, some film locations but no official film tour. Considering private tour for arrival day in London - any recommendations.

Traveled this way last year in Ireland for same time frame and same people - worked out great.

Thanks

When you arrive in Scotland you could take the coastal route via the A75/A77 through the borders and Ayrshire and perhaps onto Glasgow, which is possibly one of the best cities in the UK for pubs and restaurants. All of Glasgow's city council run museums offer free entry too.

Drive from Glasgow to Loch Lomond (just 20 miles) and enjoy some of the world's best scenery in the Loch Lomond National Park. This is the Gateway to the Highlands. You could perhaps stay there for a night or three and do some touring and/or head up the west highlands for more spectacular scenery before returning to Edinburgh or Glasgow.
