What to visit?

Hello!

I am living in London for 3 years, and the only place that I saw in England, beside London, was a bit of Wales, where I enjoyed every second. I know that England has a lot to offer...so I would like to visit step by step different places, one, or two days at once. But I have no idea where should I start or what to visit.

Please some advice!

Thank you!

What has prevented you from visiting ANYWHERE in 3 years?

Lack of time? Money? Curiosity?

OK - 1st trip - Brighton for the weekend

2. Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace on a Sunday.

3. Oxford

4. Winchester

etc, etc.

Do you have access to a car or will you be using public transport?

Edinburgh on the sleeper train, York for a day trip, up to Cambridge & Ely for the day, spend time on the South Downs, go to the Isle of Wight, walk in the Yorkshire Dales, see the glory of Durham Cathedral, go onto the bleak windswept hills of Northumberland, go to Western Scotland for some of the best (if coldest) beaches outside the Caribbean.

First, I didn't travel because of lack of money sometime, and when there were money, I didn't have time. I don't have too much time now either, but I have a car, and I think it would be easier.

Thanks all for your tips, I will start planning....

Audley End (just spotted my typo!) you can also visit here by train from Liverpool Street quite easily.
