First time to the UK

Hi all, in August the wife and I are heading tithe uk for the first time.... We're not seasoned international travelers so this is going to a big deal for us!

I've just signed up to trip advisor as I know we'll have heaps of questions. So please bare with me as I'm sure some will probably be stupid.

So hear goes, should I take my ipad to use a map/ directory or just take my iPhone? If so is there a SIM card deal thats suitable for the uk for a month? Also heading to holland and Germany, will I need a sim for each country?.

That's the ice breaker question out of the way more to follow......

I do hope you are going to bring a guidebook (and read at least some of it before you come), as you get so much more out of a visit if you have one, and all guidebooks have a map section in any case.

Hi Dave, the iphone is a must, I do see people walking around with ipads and taking photos, but I find it would be a pain to lug it around. I do take a small laptop to use in the apartment. If you have wi-fi included where you stay, you may find the ipad useful and easier to use. But I would be taking maps for wandering around.

Travelling with "IT" has taken the adventure and experience of travelling outside your own square.

Enjoy the culture and ambiance of where you are, otherwise why bother!
