debit or credit card abroad?

I am trying to work my way through the minefield of which card to use abroad for purchases with calls to both own bank and Post Office.

PO offer 0% charge on purchases and own bank is 2.75%.

BUT I think that banks work on Business exchange rate when calculating and PO on Tourist rates. Since Business rate is much better rate of exchange does this cancel out apparent 'better deal' from PO?

1. Re: debit or credit card abroad?

0% of EITHER tourist OR business rate is still 0%...

Maybe worth looking at a price comparison site like travelmoney.com or moneysupermarke.com?

I have a PO credit card, I use it for any major purchases, and I use a debit card for cash withdrawals. Seems to work just fine.
