We are a couple of Aussie women planning a drive from Aberdeen to Wales in April-May 2014. We have approximately 12 -14 days for this. We have seen some of Scotland (Edinburgh, Inverness, Fort William, Fort Augustus) and would like to see something different.
We fly in to Aberdeen and will spend a day or so there before picking up a hire car and heading for Wales. We are happy to hear suggestions of places to see on the way but want to spend most of the time in Wales, starting in the north, and finishing in Cardiff before driving on to Bath then London.
Can anyone suggest an itinerary - we are mainly interested in the scenery, celtic & historical places and megalithic sites. We would enjoy a couple of short walks (1-2 hours). Also very keen to hear as much Welsh music as we can.
We'd like to stay at B&Bs or guest houses. In April - May is it better to book these ahead of time or take our chances that we'll be able to find accommodation without booking?
Very grateful for any suggestions and tips - thank you
