Reporting fraudulant scam on Trip Advisor

I've notified Trip Advisor about a scam on Trip Advisor where I lost £2,000 to someone pretending to own a villa. I don't want this to happen to anyone else and want Trip Advisor to take the listing down. Unfortunately can't get in touch with them and not able to leave a review.

Here's the link - tripadvisor.co.uk/VacationRentalReview-g6646…

Hope this hasn't happended to anyone else!

It is a paid advertisement. Trip Advisor cannot check the advertisements on the site, just like a newspaper cannot check the ads that it runs.

It isn't a paid advert in that sense Nick, in that you can book it via TA directly. So whilst they paid to be on TA, you can also book it via TA.

Start a booking and you get to "Book this rental on TripAdvisor and receive our Peace of Mind Protection"

And it also says on their main page (along with a logo "pay on trip advisor" that I cant display here)

Payment Options

Use a credit card to book with our Peace of Mind Protection.

OK so I checked this which is difficult as I couldn't find an address so couldn't find a direct contact for the owners. It is on 2 TA booking sites but has no reviews and no feedback time/rating. Personally I wouldn't have touched it without this info.

There is a facility beside it to leave a review and it comes up when clicked. Did it not go through to posting Beth?
