Transport from Heathrow T3 to Hoilday Inn Express Cambridge

Re: Transport from Heathrow T3 to Hoilday Inn Express Cambridge

Hi,

We are planning to take a coach (book with National Express Coaches) from T3 to Cambridge and then transfer by taxi to the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge:

Address: Holiday Inn Express Cambridge, Coldhams Business Park, Norman Way, Cambridge CB1 3LH, United Kingdom).

The scheduled arrival time to Cambridge should be about 9:15pm, on a Monday.

Need help on:

1) Which bus stop should we buy the ticket to?

4 options (from National Express Caoch:http://www.nationalexpress.com/):

Cambridge, Cambridge Madley Park & Ride, Cambridge Trumpington, Cambridge Trumpinton Park and Ride.

2) When arrive Cambridge (one of the 4 options station), can we easily order or wave down a taxi? (we have luggage)

3) We were told the Train station would have a taxi stand, do you know if the coach driver would be kind enough to drop us at the train station instead ?

thank you:)

You want to book to Cambridge - which will be the bus station. It shouldn't be too difficult to get a taxi there.

The coach driver will most certainly NOT drop you at the rail station - his route goes nowhere near it. It's a 15-20 minute walk from the bus station. Even if he passed it he would not be allowed to make an unscheduled stop - even more so with luggage

The HI is on an industrial estate on the outskirts of town 15 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop. If your aim is to visit Cambridge I'd seriously consider a different hotel

I am pretty sure the coach stop in Cambridge has a taxi stand nearby.

(In Cambridge coaches stop at Parkside, rather than Drummer Street Bus Station - the latter is too small.)

Hi Dzug1 & Wirewiper,

Thank you so much for your fast response to my queries, great tips and helpful advices.

If not the HI Cambridge, can you recommend a hotel of similar quality?

Clean room and bathroom are essential, so as 24 hours service at the reception.

We did look at many B&B and hotels of the similar price range, 80 pounds per night, but the feedback of them are very uncleaned and the rooms are very tired.

Thank you!

Its hidden away at the back of an industrial estate, I'd recommend either the Premier Inn at Orchard Park on the other side of Cambridge, or a little higher up the scale the Holiday Inn at Impington, both are close to regular bus routes.

With regard to the coach drop off, there's a taxi rank next to the coach bays, Cambridge seems to have plenty of taxis, so there shouldn't be a problem.
