Bird's view of London and Birmingham

I'm travelling to London & Birmingham in a week and would love to know from where can I capture the photographs of the city of London and Birmingham from top of the hill or some place really high.

For London try the Observatory in Greenwich Park or Parliment Hill on Hampsted heath. Both will give you a good view of the City but only the tallest buildings in docklands will really stand out and most of London is actually quite low rise.

You could take a ride on the London Eye.

The Shard in London is amazing - although rather expensive!

Thanks a lot to all :)

Really appreciate the help.

Though I would still want to know the places in Birmingham.

Ask in the Birmingham forum about views of Birmingham.

One place would be on the balcony of the new Birmingham library.

This is an amazing new building and the balcony gives great views of the surrounding areas.

One photo here showing the balcony and view
