Paris, UK, Amsterdam, Paris, Morocco, Paris

Hello

We're a family of 5, with 25,14 & 5 yrs old daughters. We planned to travel to the above destinations in December. Our tentative itinerary is

Dec 1 - Arrive in Paris

Dec 4 - Travel to UK by train

Dec 11- Travel to Amsterdam by night ferry

Dec 16- Travel to Paris by train

Dec 17- Travel to Fez by flight

Dec 21- Back to Paris

Dec 23 - Back home

We would like some advise if the trip is doable, and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you in advance

It can be done, but you are doing a lot of back-tracking to Paris.

Would yo be able to fly into London at the start of your journey and fly home from Paris?

Also, the weather can be unpredictable at the time of year you are travelling.

I assume you have done your research on how to get to and from each detinantion, but if not:

Train Paris to London: www.eurostar.com

Ferry Harwich to Hook of Holland: stenaline.co.uk/ferry/rail-and-sail/holland/

The ferry ticket on the Rail Sail option includes your train from London to Harwich and the train from Hook of Holland to Amsterdam.

Train Amsterdam to Paris: www.thalys.com

I agree that there is a lot of backtracking and a ferry may not be a pleasant option in December

I certainly would look at flying into the UK and out of morocco on a multi city ticket and use the Eurostar to Amsterdam then Thalys to Paris or even Eurostar to Paris then Thalys to Amsterdam before morocco or even fly Paris to morocco and morocco to Amsterdam

The point being that you can change the flights and trains around in many different ways to prevent the need to pass through Paris three tomes

Hi matt_1376

Thank you for the reply.

We're flying from Kuala Lumpur, and to fly return KUL - Paris is so far the cheapest option (saving more than 1000 pound on fare)

The weather is one of our concern too as we've no experience of cold weather (forever summer in Kuala Lumpur) but that is the only time that all of us are free (school and work). Will it be too cold?

Yes, I've read that we can also travel by train and ferry to some places in Europe but I've not make any research yet as we are still not sure if the trip is doable. Thank you so much for the info. I'll check it out.

We prefer country side and nature rather than city. Do you have any suggestions of places to visit in in the UK/place to stay?

Thanks

"Will it be too cold?"

Amsterdam, Paris and the U.K. will certainly be cold. You may see snow although rain is more likely at that time of year. Dress appropriately!

On the other hand, the European airports and cities will be gaily decorated in anticipation of Christmas, with a festive atmosphere and, maybe, Christmas Markets, carol singing and other seasonal attractions for you to enjoy.

Stranely I can't find any direct flights from either London or Amsterdam to Fez. Ryanair fly from Eindhoven so look at that as it's quite an easy airport to get to. Is there some reason you want to go to Fez? maybe Casablanca or Tangiers would be easier.

So you would be better off doing Paris-London-Amsterdam-Fez-Paris

Hi pausilypon

Thank you. Hope that we can cope with the cold. Not use to temp. below 20c.

I'm sure that we love to see all the Christmas preparations.

The problem with going to the countryside at that time of year is that it gets light around 8:00am and dark around 4:00pm - the days are very short.
