Chester to Gatwick airport

HI

I have to travel from Chester to Gatwick airport and the ticket purchased include changing at Euston station , London Eustion to London Bridge, to Gatwick. I have never used the tube before, is it easy to access the Euston tube station to London Bridge?

All the main rail stations / termini have tube stations directly below them, clearly signposted.

More knowledgeable folk might be able to suggest a better route. I suspect you may be better going via St Pancras, but there are helpful staff at every barrier, who are used to visitors.

You just have to make sure you follow the right signs. You need the Northern line to London bridge but there are also underground lines going to other places, including a northern line tube that goes through Waterloo so it can be a bit confusing. I'm not an expert on that station so can't tell you how many steps there are or if the signs will say Northern line southbound or eastbound but look at the tube maps on the wall and when you get to what you think is the right platform just ask someone. Don't get on the piccadilly line.

If your baggage is easy to carry, the simplest route is to walk from Euston to St Pancras, about ten minute walk. Take the Brighton train from St Pancras, that goes direct to Gatwick.

if the ticket specifies a different route they'd need to pay again if they went via st pancras.

Not necessarily. The majority of advance purchase tickets on the route between Chester and Gatwick will only be restricted on the Chester to London portion. They will allow a choice from the London Terminal (Euston) on to Gatwick as long as the routeing is reasonable, and St Pancras to Gatwick certainly is a sensible way for many people who wish to avoid the underground..
