Bristol has become renowned for its many good eateries.

The Olive Shed across the Floating Harbour just beyond the M Shed is pretty good: www.theoliveshed.com/food-drink-bristol.htm

Never eaten at these, Bourdeaux Quay is across the Floating Harbour, would probably have to book. El Puerto is just opposite the hotel. The busy Graze Bar & Chophouse is a minute or so away. Prezzo in Anchor Square.

Close by in historic King St are the long-established Cathay Rendezvous (Chinese); Renato's Taverna dell'Artista located in a pretty 1650's building and The Raj.

Thai Edge is nearby on Broad Quay. Otherwise; the rest along the harbourside in close proximity are buffet style, bars serving food, pizzas, Caribbean, Cuban, Indian and S American.

Otherwise, several excellent ones along Welsh Back and The Grove, which are all near the waterside.

I can endorse Birbeck54's suggestion of the Olive Shed for its location and modestly priced but tempting menu. I lingered there outside for a couple of hours a year or so back. Sat down for coffee, weakened, and then had an early lunch with several large glasses of wine to suit.
