Accomodation in Duxford/Sawston/Linton area

We are traveling to this area in May of 2012 to visit Sawston where my wife's family lived. Can anyone suggest some B&B's, pubs with Accomodations etc?

If you draw a blank, the area is just to the south of Cambridge which has a number of hotels etc.

Can't personally recommend anywhere, but this TA page might help a bit:

I have had a look on Viamichelin though and closest places to Sawston to stay that they flag up are both at Whittlesford, and also near the Whittlesford Parkway Station (being as I have spotted you will be training-it from Liverpool Street on another thread).

One is the Holiday Inn Express Cambridge Duxford M11 Junction 10:

The other is a pub with rooms - the Red Lion Hotel:

Both have reviews on TA and can be found on the page I linked to in post #2.

Good Luck

There are several local pubs with accommodation:

Three Tuns at Great Abington:

Pub serves mainly Thai food (Sunday lunch on Sundays)

Peartree at Hildersham

(only one room, I think)

The Crown at Linton

I'm afraid I can't comment on the accommodation personally, as live near area, but a colleague regularly stays at the Three Tuns.

You could try the Duxford Lodge Hotel:

I investigated this when we wanted to visit Duxford and the area as it looked very attractive and convenient, but have not stayed there.

I stayed in a beautiful B&B in Linton two years ago and can recommend it. It's called Springfield House.

Tucked away down a leafy lane but only a minute or two from the High Street, charming hosts and a gorgeous garden - and the Granta runs through the bottom of the garden, too. Short walk to good pubs for dinner.

Don't stay at the Linton Travel Tavern though.

The Red Lion at Hinxton also does accommodation and is excellent. There are a couple of B&Bs in Great Shelford I think, nice village and easy to reach as it's also on the rail line
