Nightlife - hen ideas although not tacky lol

Dont know if to come to Cambridge or not. We want to go to a nice hotel with a pool etc then take a pole dance class, eat tapas and move onto the nightlife. Dont want to move aimlessly from bar to bar so wondered whats on offer. We are in our 30's but we do like a laugh and a dance.

Anyone advise? Thanks!!

Did you intend this to be posted in the Chester forum?

If you want a city centre hotel with pool then it is a choice between the Crowne Plaza and the Mill Hotel and Spa. There are others also that are not too far out of the city.

No expert on pole dancing (much too old!). If you are looking for a ´one off´ lesson then a google search brings up www.chillisauce.co.uk who specialise in hen dos and the like. I have no idea who they are so this is not a recommendation of any type. The hotel they use for their Chester package seems to be the Holiday Inn express by the racecourse which does not have a pool.

As for tapas La Tasca and several other mediterranean restaurants offer tapas, mezze and similar.

You could put together a high class package for yourself by looking at reviews and suggestions from the Visit Chester website and staying at one of the 2 hotels mentioned, though I´m not sure how you would find a pole dancing class.

Hope you choose Chester. Lots of things to see and wonderful shopping when you aren´t celebrating.

Thanks, one of the main deciding factors is the nightlife. We want to go to a late bar or club but as we are in our 30's dont want to go clubbing as such but still want fun and a good old dance, is there anything around or any party venues?

Have a look at D´melting pot. www.meltinpot.co.uk/content/celebrations. Again I have no first hand experience so it may not be your type of dancing. If you want a ´classy´evening but without the dancing it may be worth considering Oddfellows. www.oddfellows.biz

Not been there but heard good things of it from people of various age groups. Would also echo Oddfellows for a drink.

Viva Havana in Watergate Street is popular too, and the barman in BarLounge is supposed to do the best cocktails in Chester.

Yes, temporarily forgot about Cruise. Apparently it caters for lots of different dance styles
