Places to stay for 2 couples

In a few weeks my husband and I will be going on holiday for 5-6 days to Cornwall areas (thinking of hitting Newquay, St. Ives, Land's End, Falmouth and anything inbetween along the coastline) on with another couple.

We are considering most options-camping (we would have to purchase all camping supplies so I'm trying to avoid this), B&Bs or cottages (preferred), hotels, etc.

Ultimately what we want is reasonably priced areas (total budget for accomodations $400-700 or 200-350 pounds for 2 couples) that accomodate to reservations made few days before up to day of stay, with room(s) for 2 couples and that are relaxed (we are in our mid 20s like to have fun/relax, but not party 'til dawn) and relatively friendly and welcoming to last minute schedulers that still want quality, relative peace and a place to retreat to at the end of a busy day.

ANY recommendations of places to go is appreciated. Thank you!

2Travs,

My husband and I stayed at the Crown Inn in Lanlivery for a couple of nights in July. I think it was about 70GBP per night with a good sized breakfast. It was a small pub in a very small village. They do meals as well.

That price seems to be the usual price for B&B. (We stayed in a lot of B&Bs on our holiday.

If you were to look for a self catering cottage for a week it might work out a bit cheaper for you. It will be just after the school holidays I think, so you might have some luck with vacancies.

Can't comment on short notice rentals. Tourist Information centres should be able to help you when you have decided on an area. Did you want to stay in the one place and day trip around or stay in different places each day or so?

Hi 2Travellersallover,

I have stayed at the Lyonesse Guest House (which has now just changed hands) and this is reasonably priced accommodation and serves a nice breakfast. Situated mid way between beaches and town is in a good location.

I take it you will be travelling around Cornwall in a car? If you've not been here before allow plenty of time for travelling around as our roads are not as wide open and fast as you may be used to!!

If you require any other info just ask....although i'm now "without computer" for a few weeks...i'm moving house and have to wait til i'm re-connected!! So hopefully others can take over and help you , Have a great time. :) Caz
