Best place to stay in March

I have never been to Cornwall and we are thinking of going there in March, for a week, next year. We will be self catering, preferably in a cottage with a log burner, close to a beach and a few restaurants. Any suggestions would be great:) Thank you

March is a quiet month with things just stirring from winter slumbers. As Easter is late next year, March will be even quieter. You can pick almost any coastal town or village as accomodation should be easy to find then.

Maybe get some ideas of cottages you like the look of, and come back here for advice on where they are. But as you've never been before, take your pick of the whole of Cornwall.

Bear in mind some of the smaller villages may not have much open in the way of shops or restaurants.

Take a look at the Padstow, and North Cornwall area, St Ives down the far west or Fowey midway along the south coast. All these areas have good beaches(won't be sunbathing weather of course) close by and are big enough to have a variety of places open all year round.

Hi there

You could also look at Polperro - it's a working fishing village with narrow streets, cosy pubs and a great atmosphere. It has a small beach accessible at low tide or for a good stroll, you can nip 4 miles to Looe which has a huge sandy beach. The Cornwall Coast Path runs in either direction from the village and great, scenic walks can be made if you wrap up warm. Take a look at www.polperro.org for loads of info plus accommodation possibilities.

Why not try Porthleven, stunning place to stay right on the coast. Nice restaurants & pubs that do food. Fantasic walks right on your doorstep. One is from Porthleven & take the Loe Bar Road.

We have stayed in Porthleven on three separate occasions & can well recommend Porthleven Holiday

www.cornishpropertymanagement.co.uk they have a large selection of cottages.

Our advise would be to book one overlooking the beach. It is very peaceful & beautiful. The cottages around the harbour can be a bit of a problem with parking.

Please feel free to ask if you need any help with the locations of the cottages we as we know where the Sea / beach view cottges are positioned.
