Does anyone how to get from Somerset to St Ives via Train?

Hiya

My bf and I are going to Somerset for a wedding. We are flying into Bristol. Someone told me you can get a train from Bristol to Somerset. Can you then get a train from Somerset to St Ives or do I have to go back to Bristol to get a train?

Thanks!

Where in Somerset? There are trains between Bristol and St Ives stopping in Taunton which might help? If you know where the nearest station in Somerset is, have a go at this site which will tell you times and fares

The easiest thing to do would be:

Shuttle bus from Bristol Airport to Bristol Temple Meads train station (http://flyer.bristolairport.co.uk/)

From there get a train to one of the local stations.

Then either get to Taunton and get the train to St Ives or get to Bristol and get the train to St Ives.

There are lots of stations in Somerset so it depends which one you want to start at really. You will need to get the train to St Erth from wherever you are starting from and then change and get the train to St Ives.

Hi.

You can use this useful Journey Planner to work out your best route and book tickets if you want:

…nationalrail.co.uk/service/…search

Stations in Somerset include Bridgewater, Frome and Taunton.

Taunton is the best starting point if possible as you can get a direct service to St Erth, then change to the St Ives train on the branch line. Details of the short journey from St Erth to St Ives are on my website:
