Where to go and stay as novice surfers?


We are planning a long weekend in Cornwall towards the end of May and wanted some advice regarding where to stay and go for some good surfing.

We are novice surfers (we have done it before but we are not very confident). We are looking for a area that is clean and that’s not rocky where there are good waves but nothing too scary for novices?

We don’t mind staying in bed and breakfast and/or hotels, room budget per night is £100.

Consider Sennen Cove (near Land's End):

"The water is pristine and as blue as water gets and our surfing conditions are as consistent as anywhere In Cornwall - due to our South Western exposure to the Atlantic Ocean. The Southern end of the beach has smaller waves with less power for complete beginners and the further North you go, the wave height increases for the intermediates and Pros. Sennen boasts a mile of soft golden sand and flies a blue flag for it's clean water quality."

The Polzeath area in North Cornwall is very popular and has surf schools on site. this is one of the websites, others are availalble www.wavehunters.co.uk/content/content.numo…

hi,check out Mawgan Porth has plenty of accommodation to fit all budgets and has King Surf surf hire and school the number 1 attraction on TA for Cornwall,enjoy..
