Most of the coastal path is a footpath and it would be dangerous to cycle due to high cliffs etc. As a change from the Camel Trail there is a cycle route from Devoran to Portreath. It is a mining trail and it is full of the remains of the mining industry. You will see the real history of Cornwall. The scenery is good too.

This is the quote from the official coastpath website.

''Generally speaking no - most of the South West Coast Path is only available to people on foot. This is because nearly all of it is a public footpath rather than a public bridleway. It also does not make for very good cycling due to the numerous steep ups and downs, and the over 25,000 steps you’d encounter, that mean that you’d end up pushing or carrying your bike for much of the way. However there are plenty of great off-road cycle routes in the Westcountry – check out the 1 South West Cycle Adventure website and Sustrans for inspiration.''

There are some places where the coastpath is also a bike path, eg Marazion to Mousehole (via Penzance and Newlyn). But most of the time it isn't, and in a few places you can't even walk it without using your hands!

But there are lots of lovely cycle routes, and generally speaking, most of the roads are quiet.
