buying produce/groceries in falmouth

Hi,

We will be visiting Falmouth in May or June 2010 and doing a self-catering holiday (me, my husband and 1 yr old toddler). Where can we purchase our groceries from? and are there markets about (for fish, fruit, veg, bread..)? Pharmacy anywhere?

This will also help us decide where exactly we will stay and if it's convenient...

Thanks!

Falmouth is quite a large town and has shops, pharmacy, supermarkets etc as any large town has. Penryn is smaller, but still has lots of shops. There is a large Asda between the two.

We used the Tesco's sometimes at the harbourside, when we were in Falmouth last year.

Whilst Falmouth is a fine place for a holiday, i wouldn't particularly reccomend Penryn, not got much going for it from a tourist point of view.

There are two Tesco's in Falmouth town centre, as well as a Costcutters. Further out, there is a Sainsburys which you can't miss as you drive into Falmouth and as previously mentioned there is an ASDA about a mile or two outside of Falmouth. There are also fishmongers, bakeries, grocers and butchers in the town centre.
