Family holidays Sands resort

Hi

We're looking at a family trip here in the summer holidays for 2 weeks. The kids will be 1 and 5. Since it is such a long drive we're considering flying.

Is the town fairly walkable and are most local attractions doable by foot/bus or train -zoo

We'd probably get a hire car to do some longer trips, along the coast, Eden project, Lanhydrock, maybe Flambards. Does that sound feasible or would it be too much walking with a 5yr old and buggy?

Thanks

The hotel is outside Newquay up a hill. Have a look at street view. The Atlantic Coaster bus goes past. travelinesw.org is a useful resource. The town itself is walkable. To be honest with the amount of “stuff” you will need for two small children as well as the requirement for car seats if you hire a car, I would drive, unless you have an electric car , but that’s a different question.

The Atlantic Coaster goes from Newquay to Padstow so if you wanted to go to Padstow it would solve the parking problem.

As Kern said to walk to town from there involves a steep hill can I just add a very, very, steep hill. You can however get a bus into town from there. Once in town everywhere else is accessible by foot on fairly flat ground. Most beaches have steps or ramps but are manageable. There is a bus that goes to Eaden Project from the bus station. Im sure the staff at Sands would be of great help to you and also the bus station. Hope you enjoy your holiday

Thank you. Seems like we need to reconsider driving down.
