Is 4 hours enough to visit Tintagel Castle?
Yes. Allow an hour for walk there & back from village centre parking. But check web-site if you have any mobility limitations, the paths are quite rough and there's lots of steps and steep areas.
There is a Land Rover service up and down the hill which is quite steep and will save you some time as well.
To walk down the hill it is about 10 minutes but a lot more coming back up!!!
4 hours is plenty to see the castle.
Don't forget to visit Merlins cave on the little beach below the castle assuming the tides allow it of course!Edited: 22 May 2016, 07:04
Thank you....we will be there in late July
Be warned, the last week in July is the first week of the school holiday so everywhere will be more busy. This includes the roads where traffic will be heavier. Allow extra time for your journey.
Yes, and within that you should have enough for a bit of a wander in the village
I hope you have a nice time
I had given Jake the benefit of the doubt, it is getting tedious now. Jake if you've got a genuine question about Tintagel please start a new thread.
Jake, I too have given you the benefit of the doubt, but please stop resurrecting old threads with meaningless and out of date comments.
Just a small tip (if you hve not already done this) buy a book about the castle and read it noting what interests you. It should highlight the features and the most interesting aspects. You will not regret the preparation it is a lovely sight but it can be difficult to interpret.
