Hi - I am looking for a nice hotel about an hours drive from manchester that has spa / pool and a good restaurant for a one night stay for a our wedding anniversary.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

It takes around an hour to get to the southern border of the Lakes from Manchester, add an extra 15 mins on and you could consider The Swan at Newby Bridge, the Lakeside is a little further, and Lindeth Howe just outside Bowness All are easy to get to around southern end of Windermere. For something extra special, for a price, you can't beat Gilpin Lodge, The Castle Green in Kendal has a good pool and spa and is only an hours drive, but not right in the Lakes.

You could also consider the Low Wood, between Windermere and Ambleside.

We use the pool and spa at The Swan and sometimes have a bar snack, or sit and read the papers. We can recommend it.

Thank you we have been to the Swan before and it was lovely. Gilpin Lodge looks amazing but may be a bit more than we can afford.

Will take a look at castle Green.

Thanks
