From Warminster to Devon/Cornwall

Leaving Warminster on Wednesday morning, arriving back in Bristol on Friday night. Intend spending Thursday overnight in Newquay or Bude? After leaving Warminster, would plan on driving up to 80 miles. Where should we go to get nice scenery, etc? Don't want to travel on motorways. Could anyone recommend any nice B & B's?

Warminster to Minehead/Dunster (a very pretty village) is about 80 miles and would make quite a nice ride through pleasant enough scenery. The following day you could carry on down the A39 to Bude or Newquay along the N edge of Exmoor National Park - that in itself is a really scenic ride.

Warminster to Exeter is also about 80 miles, mostly along the A303 which in itself is through nice countryside. The following day would be a quick drive along the A30 to either Bude or Newquay direction.

Have a think about which route (or any others) you want to take first then we can think about accommodation.
