Hi Margi, you're coming a long way down to the "English riviera" and hope you have a safe journey..

There are miles of coastline to walk, the whole of Torquay seafront is flat and easily walked from the harbour to the railway station, mafter that there are some hilly bits but you can walk to Paignton...

Cockington has some great gardens and lakes to explore, whilst babbacombe downs has great views and plenty of places to eat out...

Please be aware that there aren't many beaches that allow dogs, but Teignmouth has an area that is posted, easy to get to by car, or even easier if you hop on the train...

There are plenty of open-air cafes/restaurants around the harbour that your dog will be welcome, for other info, the restaurant review section is useful

Not sure about specific activities during those dates, but you can keep an eye on the local press via this link....

Hi. For a good day out head over to Brixham. Start off with breakfast at The Breakwater Bistro , on the Berry Head road www.thebreakwater.co.uk Its dog friendly and has views to die for ... and the breakfast's are good too !

Then drive up to the Berry Head National Nature Reserve, just follow the brown signs. There's a large car park there and great coastal views with plenty of space for dogs and humans alike to have a run around. Its right on the south west coast path and an excellent walk , about 1.6 miles , is along to Sharkham Point - the dog will love it. If you have time on your return there's a very nice cafe at Berry Head, again its very dog friendly there, they even supply free dog biscuits on the counter!

All you'll need is some good weather ... Good Luck !

We used to take our dog on the boats over to Paignton & Brixham as well.

Goodrington Beach ( the one by the boating lakes) allows dogs and it's a nice walk from Torquay to there if you go via Preston Beach, Paignton seafront to the harbour and then keep left to go up over Goodrington Cliff Gardens.

As you walk from Torquay there's a park (Hollicombe gardens)on the left to walk through about half a mile further on from Livermead Cliff hotel towards Paignton which makes the walk nicer but not sure whether dogs are allowed in there still .

Another nice walk is to Cockington. There is some road you have to walk on,but a lot of it you can get off the road and walk on a country track. When you get to Cockington there is plenty of grassy space for a good run around for the dog and there are various events going on all the time in Cockington.

The Sportsmans Arms Pub in Laburnum Street, off Belgrave Road,Torquay used to happily allow our dog in and had a really good atmosphere with friendly locals and darts teams.
